Here's what ticks me off. Biden at a press conference was asked if he takes "accountability" for what has unfolded in recent weeks in Afghanistan. Biden stated, "I bear responsibility for fundamentally all that's happened...of late, but here's the deal, you know I wish you one day say these things. You know as well as I do that former president made a deal with the Taliban that we get all American forces out of Afghanistan by May 1."
So he admits responsibility, then proceeds to blame former President Trump. (Typical Progressive Leftist behavior). I have a former friend of mine who became a huge Biden supporter in the last few years. He keeps complaining that this wouldn't of unfolded had President Trump made the deal with the Taliban to begin with. Such BS. I'm surprised President Trump was able to get as much done as he did in 4 years considering all the crap he had to deal with from Pelosi. Biden's administration had to be 100% aware of Trump's deal with the Taliban. Immediately after that dimwit taking office, they should've been talking with the Taliban about extending the deadline if need be. Trump negotiated peace wit the Taliban to keep their guns pointed away from U.S. forces so we could safely evacuate from that shit hole. Had Trump gotten re-elected, I don't doubt he would've had our troops, U.S. citizens and allies out of there by the deadline. The deaths of my fellow Marines and Corpsman are on Biden and his administration's hands.
The Biden admin is friends with the Taliban. They said they had the same goals. That the US is relying on the Taliban. Over and over again they said those two things. What do those two things sound like??? There's a word for groups with that relationship, allies. F'n allies.
The difference between Trump's dealings with the Taliban and the Biden admin's is Trump still saw them as enemies and treated them as such. Biden is treating them as allies. That's how this got fubared, treating terrorists as allies.
Meanwhile, back here, people who don't want a pissant shot they don't need are being labeled and treated as terrorists.
When a gov makes its own people it's enemy, the gov becomes the enemy of the people. That's where we are. Right now.
As much as I hate to give any support for biden or whatnot, but I gotta say this. The graphic suggests all that equipment is in operating order and totals up new costs. None of that stuff is anywhere near new, and I would put money on the fact that much of it is non-operable. It was on an inventory list, but OOS and on a back lot to be a parts doner. I am mostly talking about aircraft and large items. Rifles/Radios level are probably the same, but who knows as that stuff is a bit easier to dispose of when it goes bad. We know some of it is still working as the Talies are happy to post video of them using some of it. I get that we were providing equipment to the Afghan army and I dont know the status of the transfer, but they up and disappeared a while ago. As soon as they jumped and we understood that they would not be in control of this stuff, men should have been tasked to use the leftover demolitions to render it all out of service. Oversight or simply there were more important things to do.
One question:
What ever happened to "We don't negotiate with terrorists."
https://youtu.be/gXK6C2rPm1E
Maybe you missed where I said "I would put money on...". Part of this is from my time managing equipment fleets and arguing with accounting about what is supposed to be on an inventory list and what isnt. Part of it is simply seeing vids of whatever in afghan showing helos with destroyed windscreens and other vehicles non-op. Part of it is knowing the graphic was created by biden's enemies to make him look as bad as possible. Part of it is knowing this equipment has been in the "desert" (harsh enviro of Afgahn) for years, and equipment depreciates quick in those conditions. Part is just reasonable intuition and logical thinking.
Its a easy fix, recategorize terrorists into government partners or allies.
Can't say he's too wrong. Tons of our own arsenal and aircraft are in inop condition even things such as the F22 and F35. With things like mine-resistant vehicles it's too expensive to ship back especially if it is for scrap. There is no question a proportion of the vehicles are inoperable when we (or more appropriately, the paper afghan army) left them.
That said, I suspect a majority of the equipment is serviceable and most of it sources from the mostly-paper afgan army. Peoples perspective (especially liberal) of "aww, it doesn't matter, our stuff breaks down so fast they won't be able to use it" ignores the fact that these people are out driving around in vehicles that 100% would've been in US junkyards 15 years ago. Shit might be wired together and taped, parts might be cobbled together with junkyard sheet metal and tac welds, but they do in fact keep things running a long time...
It seems common that the people of the area are viewed as uneducated and backward. Some may be, and the term "educated" can be debated, but I will tell you that there is plenty of sharp and capable people there who have learned to solve problems in unique ways to keep life moving forward. Their skills are different, the way they tackle an problem is different, but they can get it done. Much of our maintenance systems are to limit liability and foster better responsibility, and has little to nothing to do with how that equipment will function in the field. For someone with nothing, a device that works 25% of the time is invaluable. For a US serviceman, less than 100% of the time is unacceptable. If you really have doubts about the ingenuity of the "uneducated masses" in this region, there are plenty of videos on youtube of the paki weapons manufacturers, guys rebuilding truck engines in the street, all kinds of stuff we would shake our heads at and refer to as meth inspired if done here in the US. There is alot we should be learning about how they have creatively solved problems.
Get em while you can.

Yeah...it happened to me once. I lost my passport and got stranded in Geneva. It was horrible.
Is every single person in this administration a fucking asshole?
The US military says it permanently disabled over 150 vehicles and aircraft before leaving Kabul so they could 'never be used again'

The last manned US military aircraft departed the airport in Kabul on Monday.
The US disabled over 150 vehicles and aircraft when the military departed, a US general said.
The Taliban captured an arsenal of operational US-made weapons when it defeated the Afghan army.
The last manned US military aircraft have departed Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, ending almost two decades of war in Afghanistan, Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie, the head of US Central Command, said on Monday afternoon.
Asked about military equipment left behind at the airport, McKenzie said that some was brought out. Other systems, he said, were "demilitarized," meaning US forces purposely broke them to prevent them from being used, CENTCOM clarified for Insider.
The counter rocket, artillery, and mortar systems, which were used to fend off a rocket attack on the airport on Monday, were kept online until the last minute and then demilitarized.
"We demilitarized those systems so that they'll never be used again," McKenzie said. "We felt it more important to protect our forces than to bring those systems back."
The general further explained that demilitarized equipment included 70 mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles "that will never again be used by anyone," 27 Humvees "that will never be driven again," and 73 aircraft that "will never fly again." Many of the aircraft were not mission capable anyway.
"They'll never be able to be operated by anyone again," the CENTCOM commander said.
McKenzie added that some systems, such as fire trucks and front-end loaders, were left operational so that the airport could restart operations as soon as possible.
Even if the Taliban, which rapidly seized control of Afghanistan earlier this month in a sweeping offensive, is unable to use any of the systems the US military did not take with it when it departed the Kabul airport, the group has been able to get its hands on plenty of other working systems.

Michael Yon was busy trying, along with many others, to coordinate the rescue of Americans and here are some details. He has texts with an Army Colonel in which they were trying to get American citizens through, who standing at the gates waving passports. He was told the State Department ordered them not to let people through. Yon and other private citizens and vets provided contact info, passport pictures, locations, etc. to the .gov of people who needed evac'd. Many of them made it through checkpoints and to the gate only to be refused entry by the US. Yon says they had 3 privately funded empty planes for these people yet they still weren't let in.
That's what I'm hearing and reading as well. American citizens with passports were either left at the airport or were not allowed to enter the gates.
Nothing but lies from the Biden Admin. I guess I'm not surprised. Let me know when they start telling the truth.
Maybe we could surround the WH with a million pissed off, screaming people...see how Biden feels then. See how he feels when he can't get help.
Three EMPTY planes, let that sink in.
Given everything that has happened, I honestly don't believe gross incompetence explains it. I'm now of the belief that the CiC and those around him are fundamentally evil people at their core. You just can't treat American citizens that way. Not a question of hatred of those on the right. Americans try8ing to get out are of all stripes of political belief, religion, etc. They are just people, and they are our brothers and sisters who we all should care deeply about. Just a matter of human decency, or not.
I hate to agree with BHO... But he did warn people not to underestimate Biden's ability to fuck things up...
The Taliban victory parade today showcasing all their new to them vehicles sure appears that it's not all as in-op as we all hoped.

But, to support the idea that equipment wasnt left in operable condition....

cant tell if I am laughing at the author or the supposed taliban response.
The vehicles in that vide look pretty "op" capable to me. I'm sure some stuff was de-milled...I'm also sure not enough of it was.
Or they just use law enforcement to rob you?

Curious as to the numbers on equipment left behind. What was given to the Afghanistan government verses what was US Government property. What was owned by contractors?
Its all just BS to keep us fighting over crap issues.
All the media can do to keep us off the UFO/UAP incidents. I'm not even concerned about the Taliban affecting my personal well being. But a superior civilization that can travel from the stars? The Afghanistan debacle is merely a distraction.
I have a really hard time believing this was an actual pic. of a Taliban flying one of our Blackhawks. I mean come on, do we really believe that someone with zero copter flight training is going to just jump in and figure it out on their own at a moments notice. I'm not buying it. I certainly do believe that we left plenty of capable equipment left behind, but I don't see anyone figuring out how to use a helicopter without some training.
Yeah. Not sure. Not like we've never had someone with Army training turn on us (i.e. Ft. Hood).
Reminds me of this story.
