I am on the otherside of the world. It may not be night for me but I think I should be able to participate in the lat night thread.
Yeah another BYPC thread!![Pepsi]
As the initial mentioner of this thread I say you can only post between 9pm and 6 am. [Beer]
From my favorite night person song...
I'd like you to know at four in the morning, things are comin' to mind
All I see, all I've done, and those I hope to find
I'd like to remind you at four in the morning my world is very still
The air is fresh under diamond skies, makes me glad to be alive
from Blue Collar by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
I've been a night owl all my life. The doctors I went to told me I likely inherited it from my Dad.
Post if your a night owl.[Coffee]
Btw not very impressed with any of the candidates in tonight's debate.
Didn't catch the debate... any highlights I should know about?
Well frankly not much which is sad. They all pretty say the same usual republican talking points. I used to be a ron paul guy but he's not practical anymore.
When discussing jobs and manufacturing no one brought up one of the constitutions most important weapons of trade. The tariff, now before I get my head ripped off lets go over the rules here if China continues to devalue it's currency and flood the market with cheap goods than we aren't going to be able to reindustrialize.
Also, didn't hear anything about guns. Many R's are softening up lately it seems on gun freedoms.
Lol woke up to a phone call today.... "Mason I'm taking the Jeep to Moab on Monday and have no armor for it, can you build me some? I have cash." Then while I'm working on that Jeep I get a text "Hey so I replaced the battery in my Jeep (different Jeep) and now it won't work... it starts up but won't stay running." Fixed that over the phone. Then on the way home "Mason I found an F150 on craigslist can you come look at it with me and tell me if its good?"
Meanwhile I can't get a hold of either of my buddies that have 220 gas MIGs so I can fix my own damn truck [Bang]. And after I get my truck drivable I still need to go do a bunch of work on a forum member's Mercedes.
Almost feels like I'm back working in a shop, except I'm still broke.

I actually saw an OBDII full diagnostics app for the iPhone a while back where you buy the app and then order a cable from the company that made the app that has an OBDII plug on one end and an iPhone one on the other. Dunno how well it works but it was only like $60 total, which ain't bad compared to a real scanner.
It was quite fun on the phone with the guy surfing the interwebs but because I am tethering with an app I can not get on https sites on the computer have to use the phone's browser to log into the cummins website all at the same time it handled it like a champ battery got kinda toasty though.
And Mason I feel your pain... hey can you find me a 4.3 vortec hey my cv axle is making noise etc it is magical.
The debates are almost meaningless. The only way to judge politicians is by their past. You look at past votes, or bills they pushed or signed or where they worked, in other words their actions. The only way I listen to what they say is to compare what they say today with what they said in the past. Politicians will say anything to get elected and only rarely actually say anything direct. Some are better than others but the best way is to look at their past. Nowadays with the internet it's a lot easier to check on people.
Gotta love diagnosing crap over the phone...
"I can't find this squeaking noise, think you can help?"
"What kind of noise is it?"
"I just said it's a squeaking noise"
"[facepalm] Is it a metal rubbing on metal squeak or a rubber squeak? Is is rubbing back and forth or is it rotating? If its rubbing does it get worse when the suspension compresses, when you turn, or during any other time? If its rotating does it get faster with engine speed or with vehicle speed? Any other details?"
"Uh..... maybe you should just come look at it"

Just finished watching two seasons of "Sons of Anarchy", need to find season 3....
Going to have some leftover pulled pork on French bread and hit the hay gotta be up at the ass crack of dawn to go to the dmv so i can get my jolly roger lower
That "no food after 7pm" thing is f@cking killing me....
I had this tard that I had to be nice to... ex's best friend's brother (if I treat him like a tard, he whines to sister who bitches to girlfriend who gets mad at me and then no sex for a week). Anyway, kid was a tard. Always called me to help with his Jeep that he was intent on building into a rockcrawler, that drove well on the street, and got awesome gas mileage, and rode comfy, and all this other impractical conflicting crap. Got a phone call like that one day, went over to check it out, his brake pads had just barely hit the low pad indicators and started squeaking. Told him it was his muffler bearing, and that it was a pain in the ass to fix and I didn't have time for it, then gave him directions to my buddy's shop. My buddy called me later and asked why the fawk some tard was there saying "Mason sent me here, told me you could replace my muffler bearing" [ROFL3]
And yeah, they get to the point quickly and you can usually get er fixed pretty quick, get paid an hour's worth for 20 min of work.... I love working flat rate.
Frieghtliners have muffler bearings straight up and there is now exhaust fluid. Only thing I got left like that is blinker fluid. Flat rate is feast or famine in my exp. I am hourly right now some weeks I loose money some I make money. On these new engines that came out last year I am thankful I am hourly I had 26 logged hours into a truck that would have paid me less than 4 last week stupid warranty jobs
Is this some kind of "rare, collectors" model?? here
Ah, got it.
Ok I know about the BS exhaust fluid in the newer trucks but seriously... actual muffler bearings? WTF? Please elaborate lol.
Yeah that is the downside to flat rate, when the job takes longer than the pay. I've had a few like that but for the most part stuff goes pretty fast. Then again I've always worked on passenger vehicles, nothing bigger than a 1 ton... I imagine you see some different stuff in your field. BTW, you guys wouldn't happen to be hiring eh?
Oh and here ya go [Tooth]

I've always found that what you put into your body and when doesn't have as much of an effect on your weight/health as how you use those calories. You could probably afford to eat an entire chocolate cake a day (with the rest of your diet being reasonably healthy/normal), and as long as you go work out and burn more calories than you take in you'll see results.
Dunno why anybody would pay that much for a Ruger, collector's or not.
I am definitely part of the night crew....even on my days off it is so hard to switch my schedule back to something "normal"
Hey guy have you tried crossfit? Anybody on here do that? I fucking love it! That and diet I've lost about 40 pounds and 25 to go.
My dad swears by those rugers, but that price is just ridiculous. The last one of that model I bought for him cost $340.
I do a crossfit type workout
Olympic lifts back to back
short intense workouts that focus on full body
I love it to getting back in shape feels great. I took a year off due to an injury
Man, having a schedule like that sucks. Used to hate that when I was working/in school.
I used to do Krav, and I know that Monkey and I think Spyder too do Krav and Crossfit regularly. I've been wanting to get back into it but I need to find some work first so I can pay for classes.
There are a variety of websites that provide daily WOD's. Try crossfit.com or sealfit.com. You might not have all the equipment but you can do most of it without.Quote:

What line of work are you looking for?
