You do bring up a very interesting point, Chad...

I blame the unions.
yep, i can see it billowing over the flatirons from my office... not good.
Strong smell of smoke at my house in Westminster
I was thinking about that Al Qaida plan earlier today as well, but my wife says I am crazy, so I guess I can take the tin foil hat off......I can see then new flat irons fire from my window in Erie.
Going to be a long summer.
Yikes!
I've already gone there on the Al Qaeda angle...
but I ROFL'd yesterday when during a KKTV press conference some lady asked when they were going to use the weather CONTROL satellites...
No, she didn't mis-speak, she started going on a rant about how she knows they exist because of this person, blah blah blah...[Whacko]
The officials were obviously having a hard time keeping a straight face.
This is right behind my house. Guns are ready to go into the back of the Landcruiser if needs be. It was lightning caused for sure.
lightning strikes is what they are reporting. 51 in 4 minutes
Bush's fault. He lied people died.
Seriously, if anyone needs help, call out now and someone on this board is bound to be close enough and available to help.
Be safe.
Can see the plume from up here! Yikes!!

The fire was started by a lightning strike.
It's grown to 400 acres as of 4:30. Tankers and helos are working on it.
I can see the fire from my house. So far, the wind is blowing it away from us towards the east. We are packing and getting ready to move out, just in case.
Dear Governor dick-en-looper,
Lets ban lightning while your on you soap box talking about baning things. Saw the fire on my way from work rummor has it, it burned a lot already.
Well I got my Landcruiser and important stuff out of town with the help of a member here.
It has a ways to go before reaching my place, but I'm not taking any chances.
I was on 120th and swear I saw the bolt of lightning that started it cuz one hour later I saw smoke coming from the exact spot. I thought it might be close to where we just moved so I raced home..... Yup, right across from our house.
Everyone is cutting trees and creating clear zones around their houses all around me.
Wish I could post pics, but no cell service to email pics to myself.
Gonna load up the guns before it gets dark. I don't think insurance will cover all the work Bert has done on them.
Wish me luck, we have only been up here for one week..... I don't want to go!
Here's pick from my backyard in Berthoud in took a few minutes ago.

Yeah about 4,000 did. [Peep]
Seriously What's cheaper Box cutters and flight training or a gallon of fuel and a match?
While some may be lighting, there are a lot of "suspicious" fires around. May be pussy retard copy cats, but every other threat gets treated with a level of vigilance, (or placing liquids in baggies, and grouping kids), so why not this?
When I was coming home and saw the smoke above Boulder I just figured it was a delayed 4/20 celebration[ROFL1]
For those up that direction stay safe
0% percent chance of rain.......
Just had a huge RAIN storm pass over, looks like it really did a number on the fire.
Looks like steam is coming up, maybe a few small pockets of fire.
Planes are starting to pass over again to finish it off.
Our less than five minutes of not so stellar rain..............mother nature temping us then it throws out a rainbow just to rub shite in our faces...............
I am going to call the Goberment hotline and turn in mother nature for something illegal.................. [Coffee]
Just had rain in Boulder... Hopefully it slowed down e Flagstaff fire.
our ranch is at the base of the mountain there that is on fire. we have all our trucks hooked up to our trailers just in case we need to get out. we watched it move over the ridge and down the front side of the flatirons. so scary to watch.
Can't speak for the east side of the mountain, but here on the west side there looks to be only a small fire still going. Looks like one or two trees burning, everything else is smoldering or steaming.... Not sure which.
Came up Coal Creek Canyon this afternoon. Every fire station had crews on hand.
Looks like the fire is spreading north and south. Also heading down Bear Canyon, behind NCAR.
From this afternoon.

Inteweb sucks tonight. I'll try to add more pics tomorrow.
I'm due south of the blaze. If they got the same rain we did it won't help much. Might wet down the grass a bit.
Here are some pics. Fire plane shot is from right outside my front door.
