    2. They amended 1229 to give you 72 hours for lending.
There was also the ammendment to allow military personnel who are shipping out within 30 days the ability to transfer their weapons without a BGC, so that they could drop them off at a friends or parents.
ps. I got zero responses back from the last emails I sent out to the hopeful 7 (Kerr, Newell, Giron, Todd, Nicholson, Jahn, Schwartz)

Sadly went to the meeting and Newell was a no show.....it was not a loss since a nice diverse group of people were there. I will write Newell and others because I am not giving up. Yes it seems like were banging our heads, but we have some more time.

I am still hopefull for three defectors on the magazine limit because its such a damm mess and just as bad or worse than the liability act. But I would bet they will all(Senators) go for the CCW in person training, Background Check Fees, Domestic Violence , and unniversal back ground checks ( say good by to ARMSLIST, Colorado Gun List for private sales). I remember joining this site as a trading post troll in 2008, I really have enjoyed meeting people for trades on here for the last 5 years.

I work in the one of the most democratic dominated work places (education)and I can tell you that these measures and others have the many of males upset who typically pull the lever for democrats. Personally I am very conservative but my work role allows me to interact with hundreds of people everyday. Many of the democrat females are upset about how these so called representatives have described them and to told them they cant decide how to defend themselves. What I am saying is these clowns also did some damage to their base and they will be very vunerable because of the things they are doing. So I am not giving up just yet. I will write letters this weekend and attend a meet and greet with Senator Newwell this morning . I am hopeful that we have a weekend to work.
I've not only seen it change but I've been part of movements to get it changed. One in particular was to overturn a bill passed by the hippies not allowing any more towers to be built on lookout mountain. The funny part is originally they wanted to build a single digital tower and disassemble all the analog towers that it would replace which would actually make it look much better and allow for better services for anyone who wanted it up and down the front range. Well, all the money that could have been spent taking those down was instead wasted on a multi-year battle to get the ability to build a single digital tower. Now we all have digital TV free over the air with less power required to transmit the older analog signals. If you look towards lookout mountain you will still notice a shit ton of towers in place adn the hippies who wanted to 'save the mountain' have themselves to blame.

Point is, that was something that EVERYONE could benefit from and it was still a grueling nightmare to get passed. You think something as hot topic as firearms and magazines is going to be easier?

So, you can fight all you want but not this guy. My fight is now and if these pass (which it looks like they will) it will be the small bit of encouragement needed to break open the flood gates. As much as I hate to admit it I see Colorado going the way of Chicago, NY & California very soon. I'm sure there are still people living in those places being denied their rights, being turned into criminals and generally hating life 'fighting the good fight' because they're waiting for that pendulum to swing the other way.... any day now. My version of fighting is taking my tax dollars and my work ethic to a state that will afford me the basic rights that I ask in return. If enough residents and tourists did that they would realize how many people disapprove and how they need those tax dollars to exist. That's the only language they speak. Oh, Magpul wants to leave? Big whoop! Wait until that $85mil loss hits the books in a couple years. Then they will be sorry. But that's logical & analytic based on fact and figures and the opposing force we are fighting values none of which. In case you didn't notice during the last couple of weeks they truly don't give a single shit about the actual people they were elected to represent.

I respect your thoughts man, but at least fight all the way to Monday, we sway three votes we can win. I have to fight it out for a few more years, I cant be lorded over like this. I admit I have been very stressed since Sandy Hook. I just cant let these bastards destroy my way of life. If you can move on I agree why let the stress eat you away. But while your here help us out. I admit I have had dreams of a big spread in Colorado- 1000 acres out in the middle of no where, just me and my family. Hunting, shooting sports, maybe some fishing if I get some water, looking at the stars at night, just enjoying what I had as kid and sharing that with mine. These legislators are taking away that dream. If it gets really dreadful I can still do that dream elsewhere just need more time. If this stuff passes I will make sure my mag supplies are much larger than they are now before July 1st 2013. What a freaking stupid law.

Like I said, my fight is now. The rest of my statements were towards those who said I should stick it out 'just a few more years' because things were going to somehow get miraculously better just because there was another election. You'll see, when they solidify their stranglehold on the state in the next election you'll see how bad things can really get.

That being said, the three votes we need to sway won't happen. This has already been decided and now it's just going through the motions for the peasants and making it look like things are closer than they are. They're not even listening to the overwhelming response of email, letters, phone calls, tweets, facebook posts and in-person stories & debates. They don't care. It doesn't matter. I wish it did and have done my part but know it's all for not. Sorry, I had hope for weeks even though I knew it was all for not. Now I guess that part of the realization is slowly starting to take over.

Sad to hear that. Hopefully Monday will feel better about things just a bit.

They are done. The decision has been made, I watched them yesterday, not one democrat even paid attention to any argument the Republicans made. For hour upon hour, testimony was read from business, citizens, tourists..it didn't matter. It all fell on deaf ears. The senator's positions on these items were pre-determined. They didn't even have to bother to count the Yays and nays when the time to vote came, they were all known ahead of time. It's a ruse, a sham, there is no debate, their minds have been made up. Try as you and I might, it will make no difference.

Because the Division Vote was requested it showed that the count was 18-17. The question is, were Tochtrop adn Jahn allowed to defect with the understanding that the others would be in lock step? There is no reason to quit before Monday, IMO. We've come this far, may as well contact the list and give them one last shot. I emailed with one Senator this morning, and he feels they are dug in, but to make one last push. After all he did yesterday, I'll listen and try.

DJ, what senator was that? And can you share his exact wording? So I guess this means there's little hope from them? I can understand not wanting to disseminate that.

Yes, 18-17, Tochtrop and Jahn did indeed vote no on 1224. That would indicate that yeah, it's decided; but "Stranger things have happened" in the legislature.

As far as Jer's story -- I was working at KMGH/Channel 7 when that was going on. The "anti tower" folks had all kinds of weird ideas that the new tower would make their children dumb (heh) or cause autism or... something like that. The original KMGH tower had been there since 1955; and then all these folks moved in and decided they wanted them gone. (Because who doesn't have cable or satellite these days anyways?)

It wasn't as cut and dry as this but really, even if it's "difficult" the likelihood of something being done about 1224 post-passage is directly proportional to people's motivation to do something about it. The other side doesn't have "magic", just the wind at their backs - for now. I know some will choose to say "screw it, i'm done" - and that's their right. I personally hope some of us will remain after the fact and continue to push back and see what can be done about this. Absolutely within your right to think it's a waste of time, too.

But, my time to waste, so, hey, I'll waste it trying to push back on 1224.
