I was just explaining to my wife today how little people care about things that don't affect them. I used the example of if not wearing a motorcycle helmet was a felony, she wouldn't care so much because she doesn't ride a motorcycle. I remember being very upset when they passed the no smoking BS laws. I've never smoked, and didn't like coming home from the bar smelling like cigarettes any more than everyone else, but that legislation still pissed me right off.

But that could hurt your health. Yes...your choice to go into a bar where people smoke. People who smoke are still at the bar...but now they always know to dress for the weather!

You going to require that for people doing emissions testing as well? I don't know about you, but almost every server/bartender I've known was a smoker as well. Don't like working in smoke, work at Perkins.

True, could be a point made at date of hire.

My 2 buddies were bar tenders at Fridays but didn't smoke. Half the wait staff and all the managers did though.
I don't smoke and don't like it so I don't complain but I understand the point you are making and see plenty of connections to this and gun/property rights and freedom of choice by both propery/business owners and their customers.
