    So is this happening in the welcome threads, of just in general? I can see it in political threads for sure.

    I'd have to say it is prevelant when it comes to reposts.new member welcome is no problem.

    Bingo. Fairly new member myself, and while I've not had that happen to me (helps to not start new threads lol), I have seen a number of repost callouts along the lines of "OMG Use the search function!!!" (I would suggest as an alternative, for example, linking the thread, and politely suggesting "You can also find a bunch of information by using the search function in the upper right" or somesuch)
