Eminent domain is an immoral concept and is an excellent example of the 'slippery slope' in action. Your rightfully obtained property is yours, full stop, end of debate. If someone can 'legally' take it against your will, it is not yours. It makes no difference whether one person wants your property or 300 million people want it. This evil was instituted with 'good intentions', but it was wrong in principle and naturally morphed from facilitating road and canal building to stealing land for strip mall developers. Eminent domain is but one of many flaws in the Constitution.

I have been thinking on this for a long time and I just don't see any other way to do it. There are other solutions but they require the government and citizens to completely revamp their thinking and that is definitely not going to happen.
