Damnit, I think that EVERY proposed law should be put to a vote of The People, and not just passed by legislators "for our own good". Isn't that the way it's SUPPOSED to be in this country? They think them up and ask us if we agree by a vote? Sure would be a damn sight better if it was that way.
There's a lot more of us ugly mf'ers out here than there are of you pretty people!

That is a poor idea we are not a democracy. We are a republic where even the smallest voice should be heard. If everything went to a vote we would be screwed, remember the supposed 90% for gun control? Majority does not rule for a reason, remember the electoral college was made because they knew they were dealing with a bunch of idiots.

And this is why the proposal to repeal the gun bills via initiative is so poorly conceived, and dangerous to our rights. It would be disastrous to lose our rights at the polls.

Agreed, i do not want this to make it to a vote. Kopel's law suit is our best hope.

I do believe that every county should have a representative in the State house. The rural counties do have a point that they are providing 70 percent of the states revenue but the clowns from the front range are controlling everything. I would feel more confident in our state government if everyone was represented in such a way. My State senator and representative are sure the heck not doing anything for me or the farmers or ranchers in my family. The Front range overpowers the smaller counties, but damm right the state is feeding off the hard work of ranchers, farmers and oil gas industries. Wont get my hopes up because the powers that be would not want this to happen. If we had this in play there would not be any stupid mag and transfer laws and certainly no green energy tax on farmers. I see my step father and mother working there tails off, but some starbucks drinking metro sexuals who have no clue sit on there pompous thrones deciding this and that with no clue about what it takes to get crops and cows to market.

You going to count on that? Which presidential candidate won CO last year? I don't think CO will go red again anytime soon... the left has done a pretty good job of making it so that there is at least equal footing in the state legislature, if not then majority.

Sorry I was using the numbers put out here http://denver.cbslocal.com/2013/07/0...olorado-grows/ seems I exaggerated but they are claiming that they are funding 70 percent of the public schools through the energy sector.

I have strong doubts the background check law would be overturned. There is already a legal precedent, with the FFL sales and also Colorado's gunshow law.
