You know that and I know that, but HK does not care about the semantics. All HK wants is their place at the trough.

Yes, you can take something originally manufactured as a pistol, and add barrel and stock to make it a rifle. You cannot take something that was originally manufactured as a rifle and make it a pistol. Even if the result is something that could have been originally legally manufactured as a pistol.

I believe the ATF backtracked on the second part of that, due to that stupid little break action rifle that you can change the caliber on quickly.

Unless this is some monumental improvement over the HK94/SP89, I don't see what the point is. A 'pistol' that is massive for it's capabilities and has a spongy trigger? -oh, goody! (disclaimer: I owned a few 89's/94's back in the 90's & don't miss 'em). I guess if someone want's to pay the stamp and put a stock on it, it'd be interesting from a nostalgia perspective but in light of CO laws, a 15rd mag in that thing won't favorably compare with any number of polymer pistols now available.

Had one of'em MP5's once.... The AK74su ("lil B*tch") was the better move I made compared to that. Sh*t, the rounds to my "Lil B*tch" are cheaper to shoot til this day.
