However, I have not found a single witness statement regarding a pump-action shotgun. Seems odd.

My understanding ( without linking since I can;t recall where I read it ) they have video of him with the shotgun and taking the pistol of one victim .

Here is my question just for semantics sake ....

Was the 870 ORIGINALLY designed for law enforcement or is it just the most popular shotgun bought by them ?

    According to this site http://www.remingtonwingmaster.com/W...DL_(1950).html

The original 870 only came in hunting length barrels.

Tuesday, on CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," Michael Ritrovato spoke at length about his friend, suspected Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis. After expressing his condolences to the victims and their families, Ritrovato then expressed his shock over the actions of a man he described as being "like a brother to me" and a "good-natured guy."

Ritrovato went on to explain that two of them had a close relationship based in part on their differences, specifically race and politics. Alexis was black, Ritrovato is white. Ritrovato described himself as conservative and Alexis is "more of a liberal type" who supported Barack Obama:
I would say things like, 'You know, you are my brother from another mother.' And he would say things like, 'You're my Italian mafia guy from New York.' So we had things we joked about: Aaron wasn't conservative like I am. He was more of a liberal type; he wasn't happy with the former [Bush] administration. He was more happy with this [the Obama] administration -- as far as presidential administrations.
Ritrovato said he hadn't seen Alexis in a while. The last time they spoke was by phone, where the Alexis talked about his frustration with the company he worked for. Apparently, the company was "slow to pay." There have been other media reports about Alexis being with upset his company regarding some expenses incurred during a trip to Japan.
Ritrovato said that Alexis' fondness for "violent video games" was the only red flag he saw in retrospect.

There are no 'common sense' uses for firearms. Just get a stick. A blunt stick. No bigger than your pinky finger. That's all you need.

Headline on msn.com;Alexis practiced with AR-15, lawyer says
Aaron Alexis, the Washington Navy Yard shooter, rented an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and used it for target practice at a Northern Virginia gun range and store less than two days before his shooting spree, according to the lawyer for the store.

    J. Michael Slocum, a lawyer for Sharpshooters Small Arms Range in Lorton, Va., said in an email to NBC News that on Sept. 14 Alexis also bought a Remington 870 shotgun and a "small amount of ammunition -- approximately 2 boxes- 24 shells." Alexis listed his residence as being in Texas.

Authorities said Alexis used a Remington shotgun to shoot a police officer and a security guard before taking one of their handguns and continuing on his rampage. Some earlier reports said an assault-style rifle, such as the AR-15 was used in the shooting but the FBI said it didn’t believe he did.

Slocum said he had no information on whether Alexis sought to purchase an AR-15 the day he visited Sharpshooters.

"In accordance with Federal law, Mr. Alexis' name and other applicable information, including his state of residency, was provided to the Federal NICS system and he was approved by that system," Slocum said in the email. "After the terrible and tragic events at the Navy Yard, Sharpshooters was visited by federal law enforcement authorities, who reviewed the Range's records, including video and other materials."

So....just get the idea into people's heads. AR-15s are evil and make people do bad things, even if they aren't at the scene of the crime. The other theme is that NICS background checks are not enough.

just watched Morse and Giron with a libtard from MSNBC...I can't believe they lie that easily after a tragedy like this. I hoped the libtard would grow a brain and ask...."so how would your laws you instituted in CO affected the outcome of this tragedy," but of course he didn't.
Those two will be well taken care of by the anti-gun community. While we made them matyrs, they had to go regardless.

Yes, it's from infowars.com, but it is not Jones' article

    From: http://www.infowars.com/media-buries...-navy-shooter/

The U.S. press has once again behaved like state media in the aftermath of the Navy Yard shooting by pursuing the assault rifle angle – despite the fact that it was patently false – in order to bolster the White House’s gun control agenda.
In doing so, they have concurrently buried an integral aspect of mass shootings that needs to be highlighted as part of a national conversation – the clear connection between violent outbursts and SSRI drugs.
