Hahahaha ... if you think that, you should see what the intel weenies have to go through.

Investigator: Our records show you had a shih tzu 20 years ago ...
Weenie: I was 5 ... and my mother chose it ...
Investigator: Nevertheless, it's a Chinese dog, we'll need to see the adoption and veterinarian records and bill of sale ...
Weenie: It died 10 years ago while I was in high school ...
Investigator: I'm sorry, we'll have to use the probe then. I'm afraid we don't have any money for lube due to sequestration but I have a stick you can bite down on ...

Walk in to your favorite dealer, fill out the 4473, show them the carry permit, pay, go on with your day...
How do you know if the permit is valid? You would still need a way to confirm that the permit was not suspended or revoked.

They ask you to come in to your local SO's office, then have you hand it in. It's one of the few efficient things a .gov entity does, in a timely manner.

That and ask for money. When my dad died, the government sent us a letter requesting a return of the prorated portion of his retirement pay for the three days he was dead.

Yeah, we could do it that way for about two years between interim brady in 96 and when permanent brady kicked in with its NICS requirements in 98...

Senator Brophy tried to get a bill through that would allow CCW holders to buy without a BGC. If i remember right it did not make it to the full Senate.

To do that in CO would require the legislature to conduct a complete revamping of the current permit system and get rid of the county-by-county issuers.

Congrats - I used to have a Florida non-resident myself. When the dims got elected in 2006, they immediately unrecognized non-resident permits, though, so no longer did me any good in CO, and CO CHL had/has about the same reciprocity.

You're not hoping it'll let you bypass NICS, are you? Because it won't - at least not in Colorado.

If I were to do another private sale it would only occur with someone who has a CCW.

Why? The last private sale I attempted both of the buyers failed the BGC.... If I had a CCW requirement I don't have to worry about BGC fails because a CCW carrier is constantly being BGC'd.

Got it so i can carry in WA where my son and DIL reside. WA and CO do not have reciprocity. I assume due to WA will issue and lack of training reqs. Hell, I could get a NR WA permit but you have to apply in person and wait. UT got me WA plus three other states.

I'm not. Nothing changes the sale/purchase and transfer rules for handguns - as in resident only for dealer or FTF sale or transfer through non-resident's state of residence FFL.
