Looking for ideas for a tattoo design

If this thread needs merged into one of the other tattoo threads my apologies, but I searched and didn't really see one that fit the tattoo idea topic.

Anywho...I've got an idea for a tattoo but I don't know of a cool way to execute it. Basically the idea is I want to do is a checklist type thing. I've got 4 life goals that I want to accomplish and I'd like a checklist to mark off when I accomplish them. The only idea I have is just 4 employ boxes on my forearm and fill them in as I complete them. That's boring though. Anybody have any cool ideas? The only thing I'm really sold on is putting it on my forearm. Any ideas are much appreciated.

Can they be represented by a picture? Have an outline of the goal that you fill with color when you accomplish the goal. For example an outline of a mountain that you color in when you've climbed Pkes Peak.

In a way I suppose but I'm not sure how the pictures would look. For example, one goal is to get completely out of debt. I could do something like a dollar sign, but I'm thinking I want to be a bit more (I'm not even sure if this is the word I'm going for...) ambiguous maybe? Or maybe something a but more subtle than pictures? But that idea gets the ball rolling in the right direction though, thank you.

Thats the thing about tattoos...you pretty much write off any hope of it looking cool when you're 70.

Hey, I'm coming up on 77 and I have absolutely NO regrets about any of the tats that I have.
Pick em wisely though and make absolutely sure that they REALLY mean something to you!!!!

IMHO. The OP needs to sit down with an Artist to get a few ideas on paper.

Yes, I plan on doing that. I thought it would be a good idea to have some direction to give the artist when I do sit down with them...hence the reason I'm asking around for ideas.
