I left my job of 23 years in July.
Hard decision? Not at all, it had run its course and I was burned out.
This is gonna sound silly, but after watching the way our elected officials in this state steamrolled their constituents, disrespected the sheriffs and sucked front tit of the Bloomberg, Tom Mausers and such and then to speak with Hick personally (via a radio show) and tell him that this was not an objective debate and process, that his cabinet members ignored the public and sheriffs only to hear him say basically "Too bad".....well it stuck in my craw and there was no way, shape or form I could represent that in ANY way.
Add to that the job duties that I held (data specialist-plugging the same numbers everyday into the same program) and some changes in hierarchy I was done.
It can be a hard decision to make, or it can be very easy depending on your circumstances.
Either way, you've opened the page to a new chapter into the book of: "JM ver 2.0, the Saga continues"......

Good luck J.M. I just did oral boards for Adams last Friday. Found out I passed, but I'm not in the top 15, so if people fail their backgrounds, they'll be adding to the pool from #16 onward.

You're still young. Quitting a job might seem like "the most difficult decision" you've ever made but I'm sure there will be bigger and tougher decisions in your future.
Best wishes.

I love everyone I work with but can't wait to quit my job.

Good luck with the change. You should send us all a permanent get out of jail free card.
