Earlier in the week, I was in an OfficeMax buying some paper for the office printers. They had an ad for their "Black Friday" which opened at 8PM on Thanksgiving evening.
WTF would I want to go to OfficeMax to buy at 8PM on Thanksgiving? WTF? I'm still baffled.

Daughter wants a small laptop etc., so the wife went to Microcenter early this morning for the 8am opening. Saw 500 people in line around the building and came on home. I went out about 2pm with them to a couple of best buys, number of people was reasonable, but a-holes were everywhere. bumping and shoving... crazy. I usually just stay home and we did just that after those two stores of shopping fun.
Black Friday just reminds me of why Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday. Our society has utterly destroyed what Christmas is all about.

Bought 4 brand new Bushmaster ARs for $2200 out the door. Also getting a mail in rebate of a free cleaning kit and 4 mags per rifle. I think I could have done worse.
Yeah, I only went to one place this afternoon to pick up an anniversary gift for the wonderful wife (11 years married now) and the shopping was actually quick with no hassle. I went straight home afterwards, figured I didn't want to press my luck.
