    Default Westminster Tissue Creeper

    Hey All,

Tonight I had a knock on the door and as I peaked out of the door pep hole and it was black, (i forgot to turn on my porch light) and I turned the light on to see who was there. At this point this guy knew I was aware he was there so I went ahead and opened the door. My dog is not well behaved and likes to jump at people at the door, so I went ahead and held him back right my right hand. As I opened the door I was greeted with a guy maybe in his early 20's. He had a black coat, black hat backwards with a flat bill, a lip piercing. He began saying that they are giving out small travel side tissues for an opinion. I asked him " My opinion on what?" he his response was that the opinion was about maintenance and if I am willing to wait he go back to his car and grab his stuff. I then told him that I was no interested in participating and wished him luck else where. He then said that he gets paid per opinion and it would mean a lot to him, and I told him no again. During this entire converstaion he had a smirk on his face and awkward stare. I watched him back to his car where he was the passenger and they drove out of our cul-de-sac they left the neighbor not stopping at any other house. We are two cul-de-sac's down from the neighbor door entrance. What else that I found uncomfortable with is that he said he had to go back to his car to get the material for my opinion. Why not bring the material with you to the door? My gut feeling tells me this was not legitimate but I do not know. I went next door to talk to my neighbor and she said he rang her doorbell but she did no answer. Has anyone experienced this type of door-to-door walk ups? What are you opinions of this? Do you think my gut feeling is right?

These are sweeping the west metro area. There have been a high number of them around Wheat Ridge and Arvada. The door-to-door sales people are at it again and they are VERY aggressive. Only way they get the hint is to be rude to them. Don't answer the door without a gun on you or in hand.

Why did you open your door? Why did you even engage said solicitor? WHY?

You "Gut Feeling" is weak. Since you opend your door in the first place. That 'feeling' should have told you to ignore him, while calling the local PD.

Good advice from someone who had seen enough of these type situations go bad.

I know.. I know.. I shouldn't have opened the door. It was an overall awkward experience and it was not until opening the door did I get an uneasy feeling. Yes they were the travel sided tissues.

Sounds to me like he was casing your place, hoping no one would answer...

    Move to the mountains.
I had a guy knock on our door once. Scared the piss out of me.... The way I answered the door scared shit out of him.
He was just at the wrong house due to some bad directions... I'm sure he was harmless as he kept apologizing while wiping.
