Get your ass back in the car and call animal control. More than one opportunity to get away and get in the car. Hopefully he loses his job and has to go run a flash light at the mall.

I shouldn't have watched it but I did and it always gives me that pit feeling in my stomach. My chocolate lab acts the exact same way. She barks AND wags her tail when she is excited especially meeting new people. She runs up to them and barks and wags her tail while she moves away. We have had her since a pup and that is her personality.

That video made me sick. Like others, I can't stand animal cruelty. I am no cop basher but he had many more options than using his sidearm. I first thought pepper spray? Why didn't he use that? Then thought, why not just go back to your car and ask for animal control. He didn't even try to greet the dogs just tried to muscle them out of the way. If dogs are truly that dangerous why don't animal control cops all have sidearms? Just plain stupid.

Exactly! He was there for a loose dog call, not to capture an escaped murderer. If the dog barks at him and he's scared, then get back in the car. Call for help from Animal Control, or just get on the damn PA and holler for the resident to come out. Getting to the door to get to the owner of a loose dog is so goddamn important that it justifies shooting the fucking dog? Bullshit.

Let's see dog had aggressive posture. Other cop said the shot was OK and Clubb was cited for allowing animals to run at large.

So they guy broke the law.

All you saying it was a bad shot are just cop haters (tm) !!!

So, if your dog was out, you'd be OK with a cop shooting it in your front yard so he could give you a ticket for it? Because you broke the law? You think this is acceptable? Really?

If I called the cops for every loose dog I've seen. I'D probably get shot.

    Uncalled for.

Yes, the owner is pretty dumb for leaving his dog out there and not responding to the dog's barking. However, I can't believe this officer followed procedure.

What are the police procedures for responding to an animal at large? Who is trained to contain and capture the animal? Is the officer trained or not trained? What are the procedures for the use of force? ...under what circumstances? Either the officer didn't follow procedures or the department doesn't have them. Either way, I think the owner has a case either against the officer or the department or both.

By the way; I am generally an advocate for LEOs, but this guy didn't know what he was doing and allowed his emotions to guid his actions. The shooting of this animal would have only been justified if another person was threatened by it.
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
