Gotta put range stuff away for the night and do a little picking up around the house.

    Goodnight!

Today I deprimed and resized more than 1k .223 cases today, and I loaded up about 30 rds to test out tomorrow. 55gr "Dogtown" fmj bullets with 24.8gr H335 and varying OALs. I really just want to see how the OAL impacts my accuracy.

COM that's what i strive for consistently. Paper doesn't shoot back.

What do you define as "defensive distances" ?

I'll also be testing to see if there is an appreciable difference in groupings between hand-loading my powder in each round vs using the Lee autodisk powder measure.

at my skill level for both shooting and reloading, I don't expect to see a difference.

For a handgun, anything less than 50yds. If the threat is further than 50yds away, evading or using a rifle is probably more appropriate option if possible.

Less than 50, how less? FWIW: you start engaging threats @ 25-50 yds , with a hand gun, you better have a damn good lawyer. OR be stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Want to up your skills. Start practicing @ 10 yds , shooting from cover.

Maybe I didn't make this clear, but evading is always option #1. The last thing I ever want to do is shoot somebody, regardless of their intentions.

Kind of vague. Then again you're not a poser, either.

I guess I have to get more. 20K smileys and they are never enough. That's OK, I found more to add in the next couple of days.
