Yes, exactly! It's the right size and weight for me to EDC. My Emerson CQC-7 is too big and heavy to carry in the jeans pocket. The only thing I didn't like is the lanyard hole, too small and too close to the blade, almost useless.Originally Posted by Omicron

Curious about the comment about a CQC-7 being too bulky for EDC; it is on my shortlist along with a BM Rift.

Depends on how you carry it - on the belt it's OK, but in the pocket I find it a bit bulky.
I go between a spyderco manix, and spyderco native.
I saw on Kershaw's website (and Emerson's) that Kershaw will be manufacturing some Emerson designs. No release date, but the pics and descriptions look nice.
The mini Grip was my first Benchmade. The only thing I didn't like was the serrations. I'd say $25 was a good deal.
If you are interested, I have a NIB CKRT M16-01S sitting on the shelf. 3" blade, liner lock and no serrations.

I just pre-ordered a Kershaw/Emerson CQC-4K and a CQC-5K from BladeHQ. I haven't bought this inexpensive (<$100 of a knife in many years. I am curious to see and feel how they turn out; never owned a Kershaw before.
Oh my goodness, I'm going to try to pre-order one ASAP. Gotta let the funds clear up from my dog's vet visit last week.
