met frank serpico. friend of the old man's. interesting guy. and no he looked nothing like A. Pacino.

my attorney in the formative years (very early 70's)is this guy
http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecry..._country_.html

too bad he has drifted from his roots. i told him at my folks 80th b-day, he was loosing support from those who put him into office, based on his gun law "ideas"

my old man was NYPD, like his dad. there were some many famous/actors, broadway folks i met when a kid in the city we don't have enough room.

Juliet Prowse signed an autograph for him when he was her "bodyguard" it read
....................To The Best Dick in New York ....................

he recovered Mickey Mantle's world series ring after a break in.
blah blah blah.

Well, I wrote this:

http://www.airforcetimes.com/communi...etters_070702/

I've been in a couple of AF base papers for exercises and LE actions that happened on the various bases. (Insert the 'spankin the monkey' emotacon here.)

I helped catch these guys too (not as much as the ATF and FBI, but I worked my ass off on the case), but didn't make the press release. Then again, who the hell knows who OSI is...

http://www.justice.gov/usao/co/press...6/1_26_06.html

Helped the Marshals transport this punk ass bitch to Florence. OSI didn't make the papers again... But, in fairness, we did bring him in at 0230 through the base side of the airport to avoid the news vans camped out on the other side of the airstrip.

I bought my first, and only so far, privately sold gun from Marlin when I first joined the site. I have another one that I just thought of but I really can't mention it on here.

Oh yeah, so far everyone on here has pretty cool stories.

What a great thread with some really interesting stories! I'm just kind of a nobody but have had some cool stuff (to me, anyway) happen in my life.

By far the biggest thing is (it didn't happen to me but it's probably the most proud I've ever felt in my life):

#1 - Was with my youngest son when he was told he'd won a Bronze Star w/Valor in the battle for Fallujah as an A1C.

Now for my mostly lame stuff:

-Married to my wonderful wife for 20 years
-Presented Meritorious Service Medal by Caspar Weinberger in 1983
-Several articles published in Denver Post re: police stuff
-Got sued for $16 Million by a little scumbag who lost big because he couldn't keep his lies straight
-Lots of other awards from Electronic Security Command and Air Weather Service and cop stuff
Stella - my best girl ever.

Thank your son for us for his service (and yours) to this great country! You must be VERY proud of him - as are we!

Thanks! Being a newlywed is a wonderful thing. But, as long as you got the right one it just gets better with time. I usually tell people I married way above my pay grade...luckily she hasn't figured that out yet. Or maybe she has and just feels sorry for me!

Racing toy cars for bowling trophies was my old hobby. This picture has been in the Fort Collins Coloradoan twice, ones of those guys is me.

I was in the paper several times for football during my senior year of HS. Made first team all league and second team all state.

Was one of the first people in the country to have a CAT scan when I had spinal meningitis at the age of 4, I only had a 15-20% chance of survival, I showed them!!!
