    I know I'll probably get shit about it, but here it goes...

    #1. I will say it depends. Example: Going against a skinny/jihadist/bad guy in a dark school/hospital/anything with long corridors (let alone running around the open); I don't want anything broadcasting my position. Home defense: I'm torn ( I always look at horror/action films and say, turn on your lights mofo!)

    #3. I can't say "don't use" an AR platform for home defense, especially if that's all one has. Maneuverability, IMO, is paramount; and I see a pistol being more practical in that application (tight quarters with ranges typically way less than 7M). I also see the argument for 5.56: most jacklegs go pull a box of WWB 55 FMJ off the shelf at Wal-Mart and call it good. Remember; most of us on this board know 90%+ more than the typical Joe Blow.
