I can't believe the cartels would allow the attention of an attack from their territory/turf.

they are at war with each other, beheading opposing team mates, killing .gov employees, local LE's etc. They could give a shit what draws attention to them.

If you get a chance, and haven't already done so, watch the show "The Bridge". It's a fictionalized series about drugs, murder, and other nasty stuff. Seems realistic, given the current situation.

pretty good show. I equate The Bridge to True Detective (HBO) only with commercials and some less nudity. Both shows depict southern towns, as they are. Having been in N.O it's one place i'd never go back to. If my route took me through there, i'd go way out of my way to avoid it.
