Agree, I know someone who just bought some of that Sitka stuff. I would need to mortgage my house to afford it. I have killed lots of elk and deer wearing my old Carharts, or camo from Walmart. I have a hard time ruining nice stuff in the field. I am also cheap.

Personally I wear my wife's sequin ball gown. Deer are on the lookout for people dressed for hunting. Game never expect someone in a ball gown to be a hunter.

On another forum, someone asked about scent blockers, which I responded I don't use. Wearing Jeans, a blaze orange pull-over an a blaze orange cap, I had a buck step over my legs before he scented me.

That said, wild Turkeys have excellent eyesight (270 degrees) and do see colors. Depth is important to break up your outline for Turkeys. There are not as many here as some other states, but if you did your scouting, you should be able to bag one even if you don't call. I like to wait a few hours to call in the morning. Remember, the sound you hear may be another hunter, and if you do call, realize some idiots try to stalk turkeys and you need to shout stop if you see another hunter approaching you during legal hours.

Thats because the animals are colorblind. Or else deer and elk hunters wouldn't wear blaze orange. Turkeys can actually see color and movement very well.

A wise man(a guy who doesn't wear matching trendy camo) once told me - when a deer sees a hunter it thinks it's a tree, when a turkey sees a tree it thinks it's a hunter.

If it's your first time going after turkey, it will be fun. After that, it's about revenge.
