Why do we need to eliminate them?
Why do we need to eliminate their women?
Why do we need to eliminate their children?

As tragic as this is, and I understand that it is....
I have long thought that getting some of the more amicable islamic states in that region on our side was the key to winning this "war" on terror. Turkey, which is IMHO the only truly westernized and modern islamic state (some other states are getting there, but still have a ways to go) voted almost unanimously to allow their president to attack ISIS at will, including in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, very little has come of this, except for some show of force on Syria/Turkey border towns. But I, in someways, hope something provokes Turkey to get more involved now that it is approved. Rest assured, Turkey is nothing to mess with.... they have the largest standing infantry in NATO (besting the U.S. by almost 40%), and their military boys live and breath military from a very young age.
Now, I think we may have an ally in Jordan, who in general is fairly westernized and civil compared the company they have in that region. They also have one of the best air forces of all islamic countries, overshadowed by only Turkey and Iran. Turkey + Jordan could present quite a formidable foe for ISIS, especially with western backing and elevated support by muslims who might be happy to join a war against the west, but are not so keen to join a terrorist force against other muslims.
We shall see, but I think ISIS is on their way to signing their death warrant if they keep down this path. We can only hope.

The world has always been full of atrocities like this. There just wasn't a proliferation of media and Internet coverage for these types of things back in the day.

When the original deadline passed for exchanging the female suicide bomber in Jordanian custody for the two Japanese citizens and Jordanian pilot, Jordan said if you kill our pilot, we will execute every ISIS prisoner in our custody. I wonder if they will follow through with it.
I recently heard an interview with a guy that used to be an extremist Muslim and recruiter. He was commenting about how ISIS is now actively fighting Al qaeda. Basically he said something along the lines of, 'If you're going to die for your religious beliefs, you better be 100% sure that your religion is the correct one, so you can't let that other similar religion over there be claiming that they are the correct religion.' He went on to comparte ISIS and Al qaeda to Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" by saying that eventually they start fighting among themselves whether they are The People's United Front of Judea, or The United Front of the Judean People. So basically, it sounds like other extremist shit bags are the biggest answer to the ISIS problem. Of course, then both the groups that are fighting each other, are still out killing everyone else as well, so it's not much of a solution after all.
