Well, that's just bullshit.
I'll admit that I mock those "coexist" bumper stickers- primarily because you find them on the back bumpers of Subarus, driven by morons that have no idea where they're going, what the speed limit is, or how to use their turn signals. I tend to think of people that buy those bumper stickers (as well as any sort of 'crunchy granola' sticker) as unrealistic, daydreamers, and out of touch with the rest of the world. BUT the "coexist" sentiment is far, FAR less offensive to me than the extremist Muslims that act as though they can use brute force to make people stop acting in ways that merely offend them. The irony of this event is sad.
It's a curious dichotomy, because seeing news stories about these extremists killing, beating, maiming and thumbing their nose at the rest of the world as they spread their hatred unchecked makes me want to respond to their violence in kind. I'm not sure what that says about me. Would reactions be any different if it were on American soil?
