Ya. I was quite conflicted about it this past year. I have always boycotted the stores on those days for 2 reasons. I refuse to deal with such a high population of oblivious, inconsiderate, people. Granted you run into a few every day, I wasn't about to subject myself to it exponentially. Second, I don't want to support employers forcing everyone to work such ungodly hours on the day after a holiday. In all reality, stores could throw a big sale any day of the year, have the normal open time and publicize it and still make out quite well. But they don't....

Sadly this was one year where I felt I really needed a gun safe in preparation of getting room mates, and for that big of a steal, I couldn't pass up. I could have even passed 150.00 off or something.

So coop - Kudos to you for bending over for the american shopper.

Holy Shnikees. I had enough difficulty moving a 24 gun safe around. I can't imagine the 36 gun.

Have you had to deal with that?
I've had one of my digital keypad safes for three years now. I haven't replaced the battery in it yet and get into the safe often. I had planned to be pro-active and replace the batteries this past daylight Savings Time change-over (I forgot).

the deal MB888 posted was great, especially with free delivery. they will drop it off at your curb, you have to get it in the house or garage or where you want it though.
With 3 guys and a appliance dolly it is a piece of cake. probably only 2 for the smaller 24 gun safes.
When it's time to move it, remember that the door does come off and go back on easily enough (with the door open, just lift it up off of the pins). move them separately - it makes a 2 person move - including down basement stairs - MUCH easier!

    Huh?

The heat inside the safe will build up enough to damage your firearms before you can get the door cut open.

Just make sure he wipes them down completely BEFORE you handle them. (Yuck!)

I didn't use that technique with my first Winchester safe, but I did do it with the second. It's difficult to find 2 friends to help you get those down into your basement - twice. I had to get more creative the second time around.
