I'm really hoping to find someone at KEIK that lives in the airpark with a hangar on their house willing to trade flight time for hangar space. Or similar deal for someone that owns a hangar at KBJC.
I have space at 1CO8, just no hangar built yet.. Gimme a year or two and we can work out a deal for space.

Where in the heck is that?

    EDIT:

Just looked it up, 2200ft of soft field grass runway... no thanks. I'll never get off the ground at max gross on a hot day.

Sounds like you need a faster plane, already. Congrats on your license.

Congrats on the new bird! I had one for a while. Be VERY suspicious of the takeoff specs in the manual. Around here, especially if hot or heavy, it can get scary real fast. Nice and comfy, but likes some runway.

Thanks. But its usually the slower birds that can use a shorter runway. Some of the really fast ones like a lot of pavement before they want to get off the ground.

Damn, that means you won't be able to pick me up at my house. I only have about 1800' of hard grass.

Maybe I can convince the neighbor put a "gate" in the fence. What is minimum you need?

Yeah that shoots my idea down as well. I only have about 5,280 ft of raw land, and no structure to park on. I'd say you could just land on the road a few feet away and taxi into the fence, but I'm sure that's illegal.

Its an older, but well maintained 1966 Beechcraft Super Musketeer III. Got a killer deal on it. Full service records all the way back to 1966 when it was new. It needs some cleaning, and the paint is chipped, cracked or faded in many parts, but it is fully safe and airworthy and is great to fly.

I'll be cleaning is up inside and out, refinishing the dash, panel back plate, flap lever and some support braces that have a bit of tarnish. I will decide if this is my long term bird, or just a stepping stone to trade-in on something with more power, nicer avionics and more capable of mountain flying down the road. This one will do mountains, but will need a pretty perfect day to do it safely. If I decide to keep this one long term (more than 5 years) I'll probably invest in getting it re-painted, and some upgrades on GPS and avionics, as they are all pretty old (but still work).

Congrats! Flying with my dad to pick up his first plane is one of my fondest memories with him. Lots of fun has followed for the last 15 years.
