    Had a Border Collie mix that did the same thing, found the squeak diaphragm, tore it out and punctured it, then she was finished with it.

    My heeler does similar, except after the squeaker is destroyed, he proceeds to remove all the parts(eyes, nose, ears, tag) one at a time like he his dissecting it.

    As soon as we hear the squeaking stop toy gets tossed(he only gets stuffed toy when we can watch him), can't risk the bonehead eating the stuffing.

    Regular rubber type toys(kongs etc) he just chews/bites, doesn't try to tear up.
