It saved my parents' bacon on more than one occasion. Consider your family medical history for the specific illness; if you can afford it, I'd say that it's worth it for the peace of mind it brings.

Wow that is pretty good. Family or single? My rates would be double that amount as prices quoted are semi-monthly...and I am looking at family. I still have my work insurance, STD and LTD, and all the other bells and whistles.

I assumed from the commercials it was some sort of scam. Then my wife started looking into it for her employees, and it turns out it's actually a pretty good deal for many people. Everybody has a different situation of course, but it gets a thumbs up here.

Get the coverage for you and your wife. You or the wife's ins. should cover the kids. It might also be cheaper to get separate plans. There's no , or was no clause prohibiting separate policies. It may be cheaper that way.

Yep, no clauses. I can get whatever I choose. Wife doesn't work but I have pretty good insurance. Kids are free riders on the Cancer policy, there is history there in my family so definitely getting that one.

I have Combined and it made it a hell of a lot easier to cover my deductible and out of pocket expenses when I broke my collar bone year before last. Id have had to shell out $6500 out of pocket and between my HSA (company funded) and the Combined policy, i had to come up with about $350. Just the hospitals bill for the outpatient surgery was $33k. I pay $42/month for accident and sickness coverage and between it and my coverage at work, if I end up out of work on a short term disability, Itake in more than when I'm working.

IMO its a very good investment these days.
