Guys, you know what? The vast majority of tradesmen who you will ever have in your home are honest guys who would never even dream of stealing from you. Period.

You know what else? It took me as many years of apprenticeship to get my license as it did for you to go to school get your college degree. Damn right, I'm a blue collar guy, but I am not a second class citizen, criminal, pervert, or other garden variety freak.

Seriously, this kind of thing is why I absolutely detest service work.

+1, however it only takes 1 bad apple to spoil the bunch, i'm sure you can understand why people may watch you like a hawk. On the flip side, perhaps you can take pride when you leave a positive impression! Unfortunatly, it appears that crime pays, however I firmly believe that they will get what is coming to them some day as will you be rewarded.

The "Mexicans" from Mexico are about the most racist, but the other south american countrys bad mouth the Mexicans? At least the somalis hate whites and mexicans equally. Greeley is a fun town to work in, you see all kinds of fake ID's some good, some a 3rd grader could make. And most of the drivers on the road dont have a license, maybe an ID card if that, but they just drove up.

That is what I hear and faced when I was in North Mexico.
However, I've heard Mexico City is much better. Perhapse more diversed?

Forgot to mention, while i'm watching visitors, I also make sure they notice my german shepard is watching them and comment on how unfreindly she is, just in case they want to tell all their friends what a great house i have.

Have had several neighbors tell me that I should acclamate my dog to other people and dogs, I promply explained that would defeat the purpose of having a dog.

Lol, I have a police reject boxer I got from the TX boxer rescue when I was there a few years ago. He is a butterball until I say the magic word and then he goes freaking ballistic with growling, barking, hackles standing up, posturing, etc. So when I have people over, I'll put Buddy behind the childgate or something and slip the word into casual conversation. The people always freak out when he gets started and they ask if they'll be ok. I say, "Oh you're fine... with me here. He's a little nuerotic. Tried to attack my mom once. I just wait for the day when someone tries to break in and I'm not here... poor bastards will be sausage. Good boy Buddy. want a treat?!" And they just look at me like I'm crazy! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

In all honesty, he is a wonderful dog and VERY well trained.

Wow I didn't realize this would strike up such good conversation!

The guy was very cool that did the blinds, I still pretty much followed him throughout the house to make sure nothing was taken, double checked when he left and all seems to be in order. good thing is he still has to come back to get one last blind put in that either he forgot at the warehouse or that wasn't ordered. So if I find anything missing I can have a talk with him about it!

My dream is to have a big long driveway, gates, hopefully over 50 acres along with a shooting range right in the back!

I usually make it a point to have a couple AK's or some such on the kitchen table being cleaned when they show up. That combined with the Rotties following them around the house and the Bullmastiff lying in front of the door keeps everyone in the right mindset. Oh, and they usually have to park next to the dark blue Crown Vic with the tinted windows, spotlights, push bar and all the antennas in the driveway.
