And I would point out that I have several Fenix flashlights, I carry in gear and what not. I have one that I use on patrol for a backup if my streamlight goes out (because I forgot to charge it). I like them and as always one of the biggest selling factors for me, besides their lower cost, is the usage of regular batteries and not CR123 which tend to be expensive and sometimes a pain to find.
Agreed. I used to carry flashlights on my duty gear that required the CR123 batteries. My last agency sometimes would have piles of them in the battery bin since all of the department rifles had flashlights that used that battery. At my current agency we are required to supply all of our own batteries for all of our personal equipment. So there are a lot more rechargeable batteries being used. For me, I try to remember to charge my streamlight, but if I use it a lot and forget it's nice to have a fairly bright back up light that uses less expensive and common batteries. And since it's mine I often throw rechargeable AA batteries in it that I recharge at home.
