BP's rhyme piqued my interest so I did some searching about it. Seems it was a very popular rhyme to carve on powder horns during the revolution. There is a book from the 19th century that published many powder horn rhymes from that time period. There are some real gems I've read so far. Here are some of my favs so far.
"My days to come if God will lend
My king and country I'll defend."
"Come all ye sons of liberty
Let us arise and take our arms
