The ploymer shrouds eventually fall off. If you are lucky it is annoying. If you are unlucky, it is after round one on a stage.

Aha, k well one more reason to get the alum shroud. Mine must be tight because I can barely get the damn thing off when I'm trying!
How did you RPR perform in competition? Did you put on a new barrel?
I put the titanium shroud and brake on mine.
You went 243 also? Nice. I haven't found the perfect load yet, I've had good luck with JLK and Don Lahr 100's. Much better than the Berger's I originally tried, they were hit and miss. Bought some Amax's to try next.
I just read that Benchmark will soon be making drop-in barrels for the RPR which makes me giggle. I have a 6.5 Creed of theirs on my DT and it can be a 1/4 MOA barrel with some luck and the proper voodoo in the reloading room.
Do you mind giving me some insight into your RPR 243 loads Mark? Base to Ogive, powder, projectile?
Right now I have 42.8 grains of H4831SC under 105 Amax in once fired Remington brass at 2.775 OAL. Under 1/2 MOA. Not done tinkering and I have not shot groups past 400 yet. Doing that today. I also have 115 DTACS loaded for today and I will see what happens past 400.
I full length sized RP brass and nothing else. With the 105s, that worked fine. For the 115s, I had to chamfer to keep from peeling the jacket. I am doing a few things different with this that I normally would.
Feels a little more solid, no noticeable drag. That's about it. (And that's probably all in my head)

Took my new one out today, shot 115 DTACs pretty well. Really enjoyed shooting it.

Dude, where's my can?
So what has everyone done with their tweaked/canted handguards? Wasn't it I just need to undo and retighten or what was the trick with that? Spent most of my time with my brake trying to find the right spacer to realize with 20 degree's per ring, I needed like a 10 degree so I'm slightly off from true centered >.<
