My Feedback
"Praise be to our prophet, John Moses Browning, who hath bestowed upon us the new testament of shooting. Delivered unto us, his disciples, on 29 March 1911 A.D."
Ha ha! That's one possible scenario, but nope. I do wildlife rescue for CPW. I caught the Boreal by hand as it was on the ground in someone's back yard. It had been mauled by a feral cat. The owl went to the wildlife vet but didn't survive. Cats carry a bacteria in their saliva that's almost always fatal to their prey within 24 hours. Small owls really get hammered by free roaming cats, especially juvenile owls when they fledge the nest. About 60 million birds are killed each year in CO by feral and free roaming cats. Subject for another thread, but....
Here's another one rescued from a cat last summer, an adult Northern Saw-whet Owl. Fortunately, the cat owner intervened before the owl was hurt so I released it on our farm.
And, since this is a Funny pics thread, here's a nestling Saw-whet that I banded on our farm a while back.
