It does not matter what you drive but I will say two things. No kid ever went to school and bragged about how many MPG's his dads car gets (unless it is a Tesla) and life is too short to drive boring cars.

    Speaking of kids.
One of our vehicle is vert, and my kid loves it. When the top is down at school, she gets all the attention from her friends.

I love a good road trip.

I just drove back from Northern Virginia to Denver last Thursday, leaving Dulles about 6AM where I dropped my wife off for her flight home. I drove US 50 pretty much the whole way and pulled into my driveway about 1:30 PM on Friday. I was driving my Toyota Yaris with a 5 speed manual. Cruise control is nice when you have it, but my Yaris does not. This is an amazing country and we are so blessed to have so many good roads to take us just about anywhere a person could want to go.

It's not the car, it's the driver that makes the drive worth it.

I knew a kid in high school who a bragged about just that once. Lol

I just woke up from taking a nap on the side of the road on what could be consiidered the second leg of a road trip.

Also just realized that I haven't known which state I've been in for at least the last two hours.

I think it's better to embarrass the shit out of them than give them material to be a dick/braggart about. I want to drag a can under the car and put a smokebomb under the hood, wear some nerd glasses with a pocket protector and be loudly shouting the kid's name.

Rarely do the kids bragging about dads car or how much stuff they own turn into nice adults imho.
