The Great Kazoo's Feedback
"when you're happy you enjoy the melody but, when you're broken you understand the lyrics".
I've never understood the "I only carry when going to a bad area" thought process.
That's pretty much my mentality so I'll humor you by trying to justify it.
For the first 45 years of my life I didn't carry anywhere. Never felt unsafe or threatened or had any spooky moments.
Recently, it seems evil is popping up more often and popping up in unexpected places. Personally, I don't really think it's any worse than it was years ago. I just think it makes the news more than it used to so it just seems worse than it really is.
Anyhow, I am kind of a creature of habit and really don't go places that I am unfamiliar with and the places I do go don't make me feel an overwhelming need to arm myself.
Statistically I probably have a better chance of winning the lottery or being struck by lightning than ever needing to use a firearm to defend myself but I don't feel the need to constantly buy lottery tickets or spend all of my time indoors.
I guess for me it's more of a risk versus reality thing. If I perceive the likelihood of danger will be high then chances are I wouldn't put myself in that situation anyways. If I can't get out of a perceived high risk situation I will arm myself. If I don't feel there is much of a chance of danger then I see no need to walk around armed to defend myself against nothing.
I also don't wear a seatbelt because I feel the probability of being involved in a fatal accident is statistically pretty low.

Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to Fight, he'll just kill you.
