They have bars in the windows there, probably thought that was enough. Although I completely agree with you, a lot of the mentality in Parker is "it will never happen here" or "This is a nice area."

Locking up all firearms in a retail store is not easy. It would take numerous safes, at least an hour of paid time, not to mention that guns will get nicked and scratched. Not feasible. I haven't been in this store for over a year but last time the front of the building, where all windows are at, were barred over and the displays were about 5-6' from the Windows. A smash and grab would not have been feasible just reaching through the windows. Either the current owners changed the displays in the store or the information reported is off.

I wouldn't be hard if the dirt bags did their homework and surveyed the store to rip the bars off the Windows with a vehicle depending how they are attached they to give a fast grab and go though.

Parker's small town feel is long gone. Now it is nothing more than another part of Denver. So many people have moved here over the last decade, everywhere you look it is urban sprawl so we can collect more tax money. Unfortunately they keep approving more and more high density housing and apartments which will just bring more and more of this type of thing. Anyone driven on Lincoln during rush hour in the last year? I swear the population has doubled if not more just in the last few years.

I think if we are going to have crime like this I would rather it be a motor cycle gang like Sons of Anarchy that tries to keep the small town small. Didn't they take local crackheads and crooks and dump their bodies into high density construction areas? May be a good tradeoff, solves two problems at once.

I hope they catch these guys and I hope they charge them with breaking that new background check law as I am sure they skipped that critical step! With any luck maybe they even stole a magazine that holds 16 or more rounds... That'll teach em!

I've lived in Parker my whole life and now evade ir around rush hour and the weekends. Aurora is moving in for sure you take a look at the workers in small shops, fast food, and Walmart, let alone the migrants wandering around. I saw a transient last year in town. WTF

It is feasible, and quite a few stores do.

Dumb ones don't, and make themselves targets.

Thats a cool store, they have a great collection of militaria, museum quality stuff.

Pretty ballsy theft given it's location. Let's hope the cameras did their job.

I hate to see this stuff happen to small businesses as well. It is possible to put guns in safes, depending on the size of the store. If someone really wants to break into your store to steal guns, they'll be able to do it, it's all about that risk mitigation. If you make it hard enough, they won't try to get into your store, they'll try another store. Thieves are always looking for people to victimize, don't make it easy for them. Even if it's just putting the rifles on a locking rack that you lock at the end of a night, you can always do something. Hindsight is always 20/20 though.
I don't make the rules. I just think them up and write them down.
