Sounds to me, and I'm not an expert by any means- but reading the story, sounds like Mr. Iranian High-Rise dude is the subject of some super secret FBI investigation, and they didn't want to disclose to the local PD that this guy was a Feeb. Pretty intriguing nonetheless. I'm thinking perhaps Mr. Persian Rug store owner is a possible terrorist.

I guess I was just reading too far into Martinjmprs post about an unspoken gentlemen's agreement.
I think that would come into the sphere of local LE not wanting Fed to be pissing in the community Wheaties. Fed running investigations locally finishes their stuff and leaves, I'd assume. Local LE have to deal with local press who is now pissed off that no one will talk to them?
Dunno.
I imagine it would be like when the various TF's would role into our AO, blow everything up, kill folks, and go on to the next HVT area and we were the ones having to regain local trust.
