Perfect, we will send troops to the border but they are not to stop illegals. This is a perfect plan.

They can't be used to enforce law on civilians. Even though they are national guard, they were activated federally, Title 10, and therefore fall under the constraints of Posse comitatus act of 1878.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
Anyone that thinks war is good is ignorant. Anyone that thinks war isn't needed is stupid.
But he intends to use them to "stem the flow of guns and drugs across the frontier and not to enforce US immigration laws,"
I understand Posse Comitatus but the statement made and implied is that the NG will be used very selectivly so as not to interfear with illegal immigration.
They should be used to build a fence or bury some landmines
That's like saying they are going to be able to separate the sexual assault cases from the rape cases... You have no idea what you are dealing with until you are at least a day into investigating the damn thing. Ultimately, they would be enforcing civilian law either way. They did this stupid shit after 9/11 when they put NG in airports across the USA armed with empty M-16's... It political posturing for the sake of being able to say they did something. The NG will run around down there, not really do anything till someone actually DOES something like detain an illegal, PC will be violated at that time, and they all go home. BTDTGTTS.

My thoughts here run something along the lines of, why the hell don't they find some company to build a fence if that's what they want? Or could it be that it's just more political posturing to try to make people think that the politicos are actually doing something? I think we should just mirror Mexico's immigration laws, and enforce them. Then when most of the latino community starts screaming bloody murder, we have a little show and tell, comparing our laws to theirs. As far as I'm concerned, they can just shut the hell up. I'm back to my basic position regarding illegal immigration, which is: ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL.
I'm tired of hearing about illegals getting in car wrecks with no driver's license, no insurance, and no intent of doing anything but skipping back to Mexico because of it. A good friend of mine was medically retired from the service because of a wreck like this; he lost his career and the scumball that hit him lost his car. F**k the politicians who don't care about the laws the illegal immigrants break, but hold us to anything they can.
Okay, rant over (for now).
I do like the landmines thing. Mine the hell out of the border, and if they're going to put up a fence make it out of something heavy duty enough that they'll need C4 and demolition hammers to get through it.

How is keeping illegals out of the country enforcing laws on citizens?
"There are no finger prints under water."
Since when are illegals considered citizens? Oh, that's right: Jan 20th, 2009.
