    Conflicting info there I think.

Castle Rock voted to repeal the ban on OC in town owned public buildings and parks. AFAIK, that still stands - OC allowed.

I don't think there was ever any ban on OC in CR in general.

That article was posted in April 2014. I agree that it is not up to date wrt Castle Rock.

Not sure what the point is with OC in church, but whatever.

Also, I would rather not make myself a primary target by showing I'm a potential threat. I want surprise on my side.

It's church so you're dressed nice. Make sure the holster matches your belt and your boots.

Well that rules out "casual ammo"

I'm on the security team in our church and SOP is concealed carry. Open carry isn't exactly consistent with the tone or atmosphere of folks coming to worship and, like others, makes me wonder why someone would in the first place.

My church doesn't have an official policy about bringing in weapons to church, but they aren't discouraged. If someone walked in to church with an open carry weapon it would definitely get the security teams attention. If not deemed a threat, they would be politely asked to conceal the weapon or leave.

Just because I can doesn't mean I should.

This sounds more like attire for a BBQ, not necessarily church.

Every once in a while I see someone open carrying here in Boulder. While it may be perfectly legal, it's akin to wearing a Borat swimsuit in terms of garnering attention. More often than not it seems like that's what the person is seeking.
