Um, I've had the first part of that happen a couple of time (never had my car stolen though). the .357 fired right next to my ear wasn't pleasant.

I'm certain that is exactly what will come out of this.

In THAT particular case, I hadn't done squat - just ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time!

When Gloria first moved here (from Arizona, not El Salvador) she went to a house party, and I guess there was a fight. She later found out that one guy ended up getting stabbed (murdered) and they threw his body in the trunk to go hide it some where.

When she told me that story, I said "Welcome to Colorado, don't go to parties on Federal."

Crime in colorado is nothing compared to the other places I've lived...

Back where I grew up on of my buddies was out in front of his house in the car with his girlfriend when a couple of thugs rolled up to his car, and pulled a gun on him.

They forced him and his girl into his house, tied him up and forced the girl to gather all the money in the house.

Luckily, his folks were Metro PD and he had managed to trip the alarm system. The thugs took off once they heard sirens.

who knows what would've happened to them next.

Makes me glad I don't live there anymore. But you get used to it.

Don't hang out in secluded areas, don't stay out past 12:00AM, be aware of your surroundings, etc.

This one time... (at band camp, kidding)... three vatos tried to mug me... but, I "won". "That crazy cracker has a gun!"

Anyways, I'm sure we've all played music way too loud sometimes when we were younger. Some of us probably still play it too loud. The point was/is: I would like to think that all of us here on this wonderful board would be kind enough to turn down/off our music when in a fast food ordering line. I would also like to think that none of us would get out of our cars and try to pick a fight when someone asks us to turn it down.... To me it's common sense and politeness, two things that are not taught musch anymore.

Second topic, crime in colorado is neglible considering some of the other (unfortunate) places I've gotten to live: Spain, Brazil, Germany (really like how they deal with thugs, lol), So Cal, etc.

For the record, my "Welcome to Colorado" comment wasn't supposed to mean that we have high crime and that is the norm. More along the lines of a suspect first experience for anywhere.
