Well, I didn't really want to jump in on this one, but you are making me do it.
I am a cyclist, was on the CU Cycling Team for 4 years and during my time as a cyclist in Boulder, I have been hit by 2 cars. Both were hit and runs, I was in the bike lane each time and the assholes have never been caught even though I got the license plate of one of them. After the second incident, I had to get MAJOR knee surgery that still bugs me to this day. That was 2.5 years ago and I'm only 24.
While sometimes it may be fun to joke about throwing beer bottles at cyclists, it's really quite a horrible thing to do. A good friend of mine, who used to be a messenger cyclist in New York City once had a ceramic coffee mug thrown at her. It broke her collarbone, caused her tons of medical bills and she now carries ulocks with her while riding to defend herself.
I do agree that a majority of cyclists in Boulder believe they own the roads, same goes for pedestrians, but causing physical harm to them intentionally is just plain wrong. Joke all you want, but make it known in your post that it is a bit of sarcasm.
Now, let me gowhile I somewhat regret speaking up.
Now, I've driven through Blackhawk and never in my life would I even THINK of riding a bike there. The roads are too small, and cars are oblivious as they are looking for the nearest place to park or free drinks.

while I somewhat regret speaking up.
