Yeah, it's got to be much easier now that you can't smoke at the casinos anymore.

    What's even the point, then?

That's how I felt when they took it away. I go to the casino to feel like and adult and do adult things like gambling and drinking. However, I went to the casino boats over in Iowa where you could still smoke, and it really felt like a miserable cesspool of stink.

I'm no longer a smoker, and at this altitude, and having not smoked for years now, I cough just smelling second-hand smoke. But I'm not into the no smoking bans everywhere.

Congratulations! I smoked for 18 years. When I met my now wife 14 years ago, she made me quit. I used the patch. It was really hard, but it gets easier. The first two weeks were the toughest for me, so you've made it through the worst parts. Just stay strong and you will feel the difference soon, if you haven't already. Everything will taste so much better, and everything smells better too (including you!). You can breathe easier and do more. Keep at it brother.

I quit in '92. I decided that I didn't want to do it any longer. Who's in charge, that little white stick, or me? Toughest times were when I was drinking coffee in the morning or in a social drinking environment.

Now I can't stand the smell and, when I'm driving, can tell if someone a few cars in front of me is smoking.

Keep it up! You'll appreciate the health aspects and it's a good feeling to know that you have the power to change your situation.

I think the secret to success is don't be around anyone when they are smoking. It just makes you want one.

Thank you to all of you for the words of encouragement.

I started smoking in HS, and quit in 83. But the stress of a divorce in 89 I started the habit again.
I have been thinking of what all the cost of all those cigs would have added up to since then, I could have bought a Barrett M82 !
