Quick-ish question~ My parents have an 80gal water heater & some old baseboard heaters that needs to go to recycling. I should have assistance to get them IN my truck, but I'll be solo when I get to the yard. Is there a place very close to I70 between DenverWest & Havana, that IF I can't get it out by myself they won't be a*holes & refuse me if I ask for assistance?
Just trying to manage expectations as this is not a usual chore for me.

Denver Recycling off Ivy said they won't. (I understand why they don't have staff for unloading, but it's 1 item in an empty pickup, sheesh)

I won't do CL, I'm weary of a service that charges & this has to go in the morning.

(I admit after speaking to the person at DMR I'm considering taking a tow strap & hooking the tank to something in their yard & just driving, they can keep the 4$ & I'll be sure to spray paint WORTH IT on the tank)

Might be a stupid question but You drained the water heater right? When are you taking it down? I might be able to sling it out for you.

Rocky Mtn Recycling, 65th and Brighton Blvd. They want you to unload yourself but have the giant grapple that can reach in bed and lift stuff out and the guys working the yard are pretty decent.

I didn't uninstall it so I do not know how thoroughly it was drained. It's the first thing I'd plan to check, I imagine there's still going to be some water & sediment in it, its pretty old. Thanks for asking!

Dont have a schedule just yet, depends on how long it takes with traffic & loading.

I can look around out here if you like.
If somebody down there has old style Warn winch type front bumper, I would be interested in it. Photos, condition, etc.
I know that I can make my own, and everyone who understands what that involves knows how much time that would take after getting all the steel. I'd rather buy one.

Yes......newer available options are significantly less than adequate unless I were a hipster with an FJ or a Jeep, or, if I was into sucking dicks.

Thank you. I'm currently not looking into PTO options at this point, but if you come up with an older style winch bumper for a mid '70s F 250, I'd be happy to do business ..

I did get my oil pump stuff today and I'll get that done tomorrow after work. I'll go pick up my flat bed trailer and the bed for the truck on Friday after work.

I hope there's enough umph in the trailer axles to make it to the shop....the bearings haven't been packed for years and the tires are questionable. If it can make it loaded for like 24 miles I'll be okay.

Had to hit the dentist today for 2 cavities. One in the upper left, one in the lower right.

Oh man, getting a full mouth of anesthesia would have sucked. When the doc came in, I asked if any were deep. He said one was a little deeper than the other but caught them both early. I asked if he would do it without numbing me up. He said sure, just raise my hand if I wanted to stop, and he went right to business. Wasn't fun during the actual drilling but wasn't bad. Only a couple minutes for each tooth, the rest of the work is pain free.

I know it's weird, but I had a much better overall experience getting a total of about 10 minutes of intermittent light to medium pain than 4-5 hours of a numb mouth, drooling all over, and biting my tongue over and over. I'm sure I'll get more cavities and as long as they're caught early enough, I'll do it this way again.

I've only ever been numbed for a root canal.
