To mount a RMR on a 1911 you must use an adapter plate because the 1911 slide is much narrower than a Glock or M&P.
Series 80 complicates things a tad.

Found a Trijicon plate with integrated rear sight - https://www.trijicon.com/na_en/produ...CA428-C-600757

I was looking at some pix and the overhang looks significant relative to the slide. Maybe Trijicon will produce a narrower RMR for slimmer pistols.
