    Absolutely, that wouldn't bother me in the least and don't see any issues - for three reasons.

    1. I have a pretty good handle on cause-effect relationships;

    2. I wouldn't move somewhere I hated/disagreed with the culture (e.g. - have had several very lucrative job opportunities over the last 15-20 years which would have required moving to the Bay area...nope!). I would stay where I was or move somewhere better aligned with my world-view, thus avoiding the issue.

    3. I'm not a self-righteous shitbird - and that's the polite term - who would flee a hostile-environment largely of my own creation (stemming from a skewed view of reality where cause/effect is irrelevant and feelings are more important than logic), move somewhere else/better/different, and then immediately embark on a mission to 'educate' the backwards savages and change the local culture/laws to be more 'enlightented' like the place I just fled....

    I moved to CO about 20 years ago and felt a strong cultural alignment, but the place is practically unrecognizable since then...Fuck these assholes and the prius they rode in on.

    So, no - no problem at all with universal application of that.

    ETA: Wanted to add that previously mentioned "shitbird" title is not universal to people from CA (or anywhere else for thst matter), and only applies to those who choose to take their social-engineering show on the road...Sooner or later that crap will leave no place unmolested & unspoiled.

    Anybody truly fleeing those commie wonderlands for something better, without trying to shove their beliefs/judgements down everyone's throats, and works to adapt and integrate with the local culture, well those people are OK in my book.
