622 is NOT a majority of republican voters. Besides that, who knows what other types of questions or methods they used to get the desired answers they were looking for. For all we know the participants selected for the survey could be registered Rs of whom donated money to the league of women voters or some other anti-gun cause that the pollsters cherry picked for their anti-gun survey in order to get the desiered opinion.

There is no way to really know other than to take the word of 9 news/NBC which has been on the bandwagon of the anti-gun agenda for decades.

    I'm calling BS.

Well Spurlock is in bed with the backers of the bill so there’s that too. I was glad to see Brauchler at least speak out against it. He addressed the apparent constitutional violation of innocent until proven guilty inherent in the bill. All a pissed off ex needs to find is a sympathetic judge and you’re screwed.

Or a neighbor making a call or 2 to the local LE. Being concerned about things they heard you say while in the yard.

This from the next AG who said in a house interview. He also feels Red flag laws are legal.

William Barr, Nominee for US Atttorney General has publicly stated that he feels the 4th Amendment is unreasonably restrictive upon the federal government. He says the Patriot Act did not go far enough in granting powers to the federal government!

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Every single red flag confiscation will be approved. No judge want's to be "the guy" that rejects a red flag request only to have the person go postal later.

The math is easy: Piss off one person or an entire city. Or county. Or the way the media works these days, an entire state or country.

I skimmed the bill and still don't understand how this will even solve the stated problems.

There is a hearing with fourteen days to respond but no guidelines on evidentiary standards. So yeah, this is going to be abused on day #1. If a Liberal family member calls and says I have a mental health issue from years back I now have to prove myself sane in spite of no criminal record, threats, or incidents.

Then order is in effect only for a year. So is the crazy person then automagically not a threat? This is not a permanent disqualification nor does it even resolve the issue! Put this in the context of people who have been known problems for years and you see the issue.

Where are the guns being stored? Will they be returned in same condition?

The other thing I thought of is... Okay, now LE has the tool they said they needed (even though they always had involuntarily confinement). As we continue to see mass shootings and casual urban crime that gets ignored, there will be another data point.

We all know DAs won't be hauling gang bangers in on this.

Many of the local news outlets keep replaying Rep. Tom Sullivan's passionate statements concerning his sponsorship of the current "red flag" bill.

I am sympathetic with his grief for losing his son.
I do not understand how this bill would have prevented the shooting at the Aurora Theater.
