I have a XD that has well more then 10,000 and the only malfunction it has had has been a stove pipe. Well a couple more but that was from learning to reload and putting to much crimp on the bullets and having failure to feed. They truly are great guns.

I am calling BS on instructor story. I have only heard bad things from people that are die hard glock fans.

Glocks are great guns but lets face facts; there is a new competator in town and they are giving Glock a run for there money.

If I decided not to purchase any gun that I've ever heard/seen a failure story about, especially at a match, then I'd be showing up with a sack of rocks tied to my belt at the next match I attend.

Plus one on that! All guns will have malfunctions. Have the time it is the user's fault not the gun.

Believe what you what but the story isn't "BS".

There's a BIG difference in testing a firearm through a tactical school that really puts it through the ringer (ie. Tac. Response, Suarez, etc.) vs. standing still at the range in an isosceles putting slow, deliberate shots on paper. Big difference.

And for the record, I don't have a pony in this race or work for Glock. I could truly care less who is "better". When I first chose between the tupperware, I did my research and went with Glock, simple as that.

Interesting... I have a Glock, my friend has a XD.45 Both have quite a few hundreds of rounds through them... Neither of us has had a malfunction except one FTF because of debris in a dropped mag....

I'll say it all day long to any of you who want to listen. The XD is a good gun, one of the best out of the box triggers I've found - YMMV - and the ergonomics, grip safety and general function are a viable alternative to the Glock if that's your thing.

Yeah they had their issues and the M's have their issues as well (plenty of info out there explaining the why's) but the M's and the 4th Gen Glocks seem to have very similar issues... hmmm. M&P's had their growing pains, but all three are viable side arms. The worse complaint I've heard is that they are inaccurate. I am not the best pistol shot, so I didn't blame the tool.

As for gross failure, shit, that sounds like a bias to me, I've not heard, read or noticed these massive failures or issues. I'm a sampling of one. But the erronet will tell you what ever you want if that's what you're looking for. There are plenty of XD's in circulation, if these issues were that prevalent, then the market would have corrected the issue ala loss of market share. The bottom line is that the XD, M&P and Glock fans will bash each other as is typical errornet fashion and form.

+1 when i got mine it was about $75 less then a glock and it fit my hand well, only problem i had was with one of those 30rd mags and that was partly my fault because I took out the follower to clean out the grease and put it in backward but I got through all 29 without issuse. I do wish there were more parts around for it
