QA Engineer working in broadcast. Specializing in the security side, in other words, pay for it if you watch it. I used to write software for over 20 years and got caught in the tech crash in 2001-2002. The software jobs were moving overseas. I did a new resume focusing on my QA work and got a job. It's a longer story than that but sometimes I wish I was born 20 years earlier.

The whole software development process is a joke. It's an art rather than a science. When architects can't specify, you'd better have local people working for you to fix it. When it goes far away it all falls apart. One of my co-workers is stuck on a probably doomed project. The requirements were vague in areas and actually contradicting in some but nobody caught it since it was so spread out. Now components written in Kazakhstan, China, Israel and France have to be integrated here and its been broken for months.
