    Picked out the new puppy from a different breeder.

    I told him to smile and this is what I got:

    I believe its breed dependent. We've had English Shepherds for years and they've all been male and extremely easy to train. Apparently female English Shepherds can be hard headed. However everyone we've known that had labs, the females were easier.

    So you'll want to investigate the traits of various breeds.
