It's nice to want to help. Operating without insurance is pretty (i.e. extremely) common among small business owners. The whole angle of "I was just about to get insurance!" isn't landing with me. I guess I'll get robbed/burgled pretty soon since I haven't rushed out to help this guy (also I have no money right now). I wish him the best. This is a tough lesson to learn and a hard pill to swallow. Unfortunately, this is the kind of thing that ruins people.
